I cannot speak highly enough about Jackie’s discovery skills. Her deep empathy and data-driven approach were so impressive that I asked her to teach my subsequent classes on user personas. I readily admit she is vastly superior at teaching students how to understand the motivations behind people's choices and behaviors.

I strongly recommend Jackie for any organization whose goal is to create useful, intuitive solutions. As well as she understands software functionalities on their own, she easily relates them all to the larger goal of a beneficial, attractive end-user experience.
And, crucially for motivating others to tackle big challenges or just enjoy being at work, Jackie has a great sense of humor and is fun to be around.

About
Background
I started building websites in 1997 on Geocities, the site that launched a thousand software careers. I took a brief detour into academic philosophy, then began working in tech in 2009. Since then, I've taken on progressively more strategic and interesting roles, with a few breaks here and there to pursue my own companies or projects, or take on further education.

Now, I'm in the Netherlands pursuing my lifelong dream of living somewhere with reasonable government and social systems. I'm hoping to make this my permanent home and have already started learning Dutch.

Interests
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time outdoors. I have two 150km+ bike races this year (one in Iceland and one in Finland), and will be running the Amsterdam Marathon in October.
I also hike when mountains are available, and like to take photos while I do. You can see some of them on my Instagram, @dogparables.
